Ahoy, Sailors!

You've just discovered a mermaid's art blog. Drop the anchor and set foot on my island of art.

Who am I?
My name is Yessica Paternoga but I prefer Yessi or my artist name: Yesseagreen. I'm a soon-to-be 18 year old student from Germany and I'm working hard on fullfilling my dream of becoming an independent illustrator/animator. Being still in school let's me stay with my parents and my two sisters until next year when I'm moving to another city to study animation. Since I'm really passionate about my dream I spend more time with drawing and studying illustration than studying for school but nevertheless I'm a good student and I do have good grades. When I'm not drawing you probably find me watching videos of my favourite artists, eating too much sweets, cuddling with my Kitty, watching films with my sister or chilling at my boyfriend's place. I also read a lot and I constantly check my instagram which I'm not proud of. But all in all I lead a very fun life on my island.

Why am I blogging?

This is me!
Like every other artist has his reasons to publish his own art I have mine. Ever since I've been able to hold a pencil/pen I drew and ever since I've been drawing I  hid a message in my art even if I didn't notice it. A lot of people in my environment tell me that I'm great at what I do and when there came the time where I understood that need to earn money sometime it has always been my dream to just be an independent artist. Thank god we have internet especially blogs/social media today. I want to share my art with you and get my message across. I want to start earning money with my art and becoming a freelancer.

What am I blogging about?
Mainly you're going to see loads and loads of my art. Of course, that's what I'm here for. More accurate I'm blogging about what I learned so far and experiences with art. I want to show you my way of becoming hopefully successful. You shall be able to see what's going on in my life and how my art is developing. Besides I'm not perfect and I still need to learn so so so much but I want to invite you to be a constant guest on my island to discover its secrets together with me. Oh, since I'm a mermaid it might really hard to walk on here so it would be nice if you could lend me hand (or feet).

Who am I writing for?
I want to be completely honest with you. I'm afraid. Afraid to fail, that nobody notices my art and me and that I don't have enough time to make this work. But you know what? I'm trying my best and that's what counts. I know there are a lot of people out there who have the same thoughts and fears such as I but I want to encourage you. I'm a super normal person, not much friends, not popular at all but I believe in me and my skills. So, I guess, if I can make it you can make it too.

Are you afraid something? If you're an artist, a writer or just someone having big dreams I bet you all have fears. Tell me about your fears in the comments. I'd love to read them and try to help you out.

My dear Sailors, I wish to have you back on my island soon. Remember we have a lot to discover.
